Introducing Kinetica, a launch vehicle series for a shared space age

CAS Space is thrilled to announce the new name ‘Kinetica’ for our launcher family, previously publicized as ‘Lijian’ (力箭, lit. Power Rocket) series. The new name will replace the formerly used ‘Lijian’ transliteration or the ‘PR’ designation in all English-language publications.  

‘Kinetica’ reflects the proud academic heritage of CAS Space. We are founded by a team of top veterans of scientists and engineers with decades of experience in the space industry. CAS Space is envisioned to inject more commercial and innovational vitality into the traditional launch vehicle (LV) industry domestically and to openly embrace the global space community.  We believe the name ‘Kinetica’ translates our vision and the meaning of the Chinese character “力” more accurately, which can be interpreted as ‘energetic, ‘capable’ and ‘endeavor’.   

The ’Kinetica’ series will offer a competitive spectrum of LV capability from the smaller Kinetica 1 (2 tonnes to LEO) and  Kinetica 3 (6.1 to 10.5 tonnes to LEO) under development. Kinetica 1 has been in active production and Kinetica 3 is under development. Each model will target a specific segment of the space economy and offers reliable, affordable, and flexible launch services at a rapid cadence to our global clients. Ridesharing and Piggyback configurations are available for payloads of various classes.
